Grandma's Lamp

I think we share the same mentality when it comes to loving any excuse to celebrate something. St. Patrick's Day in New York is definitely one of those times, though it's funny to think we spent it eating brunch and drinking wine this year vs. playing flip cup and doing shots. My, how the times have changed.

Certain friends of ours are obviously more particular and special than others. Who fits this category better than Amanda Kelly? She has to be one of my favorite people, seriously. You always know exactly what you'll get with her and I love the fact that she has no problem speaking her mind or, in some cases, kicking you out of her apartment. Our 2008 Hoboken St. Patty's celebration has to be one of the funnier times we've had with the crew. I crack the hell up whenever I think about so many parts of that day/night. I swear, I've laughed more over the past six years with you in New York than I have ever and probably will ever. I love how the day starts off with civilized martinis for you guys:
I also love how, an hour later, said martinis are being used for flip cup booze since soooooomeone doesn't drink beer. The shenanigans begin:
And, there it is. The shining beacon of light, no pun intended, that is Amanda's family's legacy:
Whatever you do, don't hit grandma's lamp!!! Seriously dude, I think I really did pee a little when Amanda said that. Shortly thereafter, we were all booted out and that was that. Off we went to hike the 150 miles back to the subway.

For real though, what a hilarious/fun/awesome/ridiculous day that was. I don't know that any other St. Patty's celebration will ever be as fun.
